All syndicates have a maximum of 10 shares.
The Syndicate Manager (Victoria Silverwood) takes 10% of any prize money won and 10% of the sale of the horse at the end of its racing career, ultimately the end of the Racing Partnership. A small monthly management fee is charged, this together with the percentage return pays for all administrative work such as registering Racing Partnerships, liaising with Weatherbys and the British Horseracing Authority, paying invoices, banking partners payments, reclaiming VAT, organising race day Owner badges, liaising with Henry Cecil and the Partners and organising syndicate outings and meetings, etc.
All decisions regarding the Racing Partnership and the horse are made by the Syndicate Manager and the Trainer, ultimately the Syndicate Manager’s decision is final in all cases.
If a Partner defaults on their monthly contributions their share can be relinquished by the Syndicate Manager with no financial return to the Partner. This share may be offered to existing Partners who, if they accept, would make up the shortfall in the monthly contributions, if no partner takes the share any shortfall in monthly payments will be made up by existing partners equally.
Once you have purchased a share in one of our Racing Partnerships it strictly cannot be sold without the permission of the Racing Manager including a sale to existing Partners.
All Partner monthly contributions are expected to pay for the keep of the horse for its entire racing career and normally you will not be asked for further contributions HOWEVER in exceptional circumstances the Racing Manager may ask each Partner to equally increase their monthly contributions to cover an unforeseen bill such as veterinary costs or supplementation into a Group race, alternatively if there is enough prize money to cover this eventuality this will be used instead.
Race Horse Ownership should not be entered into for financial gain as it is not guaranteed that you will receive any return from your investment. Please consider it for your pleasure with any gains a bonus. Although we strive to purchase animals which we think will have a residual value at the end of their racing career through selecting an attractive pedigree, this helps financially for the Racing Partnership and also for the welfare of the horse who will hopefully be more attractive at the sales.
